By downloading, installing, or using the Cartive application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Cartive is a home inventory management and smart shopping application that helps you:
- Track household inventory and expiration dates
- Create and manage shopping lists
- Scan barcodes and receipts
- Discover local sales and deals
- Generate AI-powered recipe suggestions
3. Account Registration
To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Promptly update any changes to your information
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
4. AI Features Disclaimer
Cartive uses artificial intelligence to generate recipes, scan products, and provide suggestions. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies
- Recipes and nutritional information are estimates only
- You must verify cooking times, temperatures, and ingredient safety
- AI may not identify all allergens or dietary restrictions
- You should always use your own judgment when preparing food
5. Medication Scanning Disclaimer
The medication scanning feature is for inventory management purposes only (e.g., counting bottles). Cartive:
- Is NOT a medical device
- Must NOT be used to identify pills or verify dosages
- Must NOT be used for medical decision-making
- May misread medication names or dosage information
You are solely responsible for verifying all medication details against the physical pharmacy label. Reliance on AI-extracted medication data could result in serious injury or death.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse engineer or modify the App
- Not use the App to transmit harmful or malicious content
- Not interfere with the App's operation or other users' access
- Verify all AI-generated content independently
- Not rely on Cartive for medical or health decisions
7. Intellectual Property
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Cartive and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8. Subscription & Payments
8.1 Free Tier
Cartive offers a free tier with limited features and usage limits.
8.2 Pro Subscription
The Pro subscription ($4.99/month or $49.99/year) provides additional features and higher usage limits. Subscriptions:
- Are billed through your app store account (Apple App Store or Google Play)
- Auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
- Can be managed in your app store account settings
8.3 Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies.
9. Limitation of Liability
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CARTIVE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content
- Personal injury or health complications from relying on App data
- Medication errors resulting from scanned information
- Allergic reactions or foodborne illness from AI-generated recipes
- Loss of data or service interruptions
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cartive and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the App will immediately cease
- You may request deletion of your data
- Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
